It was a very effective way to bring in new members. When the friend claimed their free chips they were asked for their mobile numbers. These were then used for future promotions.

They now run the promotion once a month and it has become a popular event. They have also introduced a text booking service with a 'reply to book'. The confirmation texts are sent out on the day of the booking.
An online poker club wanted to attract more players during the week. On Monday afternoons they now send personalised vouchers for chips. These vary in amount and the players have to redeem a code onsite to find out how much they are entitled to. They have found that by bringing people onto the site they have encouraged more play. An online bingo company was looking for ways to compete with the competition. They use a vast amount of different avenues for marketing and now include text competitions or text for a voucher. By making their competitions fun and offering great prizes they have created a substantial database of potential customers, and are able to continue to market to customers who haven't yet joined online bingo. When customers do sign up, they are immediately removed from the initial database and moved to a current player database. The company follows up all memberships with vouchers and special offers, and continues to reward regular customers and encourage customers who have drifted, back to the game.
