Driving New and Repeat Business - Dental Practice

A dental practice sent a personalised message 5 months after each client's last appointment prompting them to rebook. As a result 78% of their clients, who would only usually have one appointment a year, were prompted to have a second. The dentists were aware that although people were concerned about oral health, their day to day lives were busy and a prompt to rebook was welcomed by their patients.

The dentists also wanted to look at ways in which to promote their new tooth whitening and cosmetic services. They sent a message to everyone in their database advertising a new laser tooth whitening. They wanted to create a form of viral advertising offering customers 50% off the service when they passed on a 25% discount voucher to a friend who then made a booking. The Txt Works created unique codes so the original recipient could be rewarded. Over 80 customers took up the 25% discount, having been referred by a friend.

Encouraging repeat business - Alternative Therapist

An alternative therapist wanted to make use of their numbers to bring back customers who may have moved on. They sent a personalised voucher to all clients on their database offering 25% off their next visit. The data was up to two years old, and many of the clients had not visited the therapist in some time. Out of the 550 numbers contacted, 12 were no longer in use, but 56 customers used the voucher. These 56 customers were drawn back to the therapist, and through repeat marketing by text should remain regular customers.

Increasing the Effectiveness of Advertising – Optician

An optician used a variety of advertising, but was unsure of its effectiveness. With growing concerns about costs they were looking for ways to gauge how well each area was working for them. They immediately attached a text for a voucher to their advertising, asking people to text a keyword to 87474 to be sent a 2 4 1 glasses voucher. They had a fantastic response and by using different keywords for different areas of advertising they were able to gauge the effectiveness of their advertising. For instance by also placing text-for-a-voucher in its newspaper advertising, they were able to identify a marked difference in the level of response over two publications. By looking at the results they were able to see that one newspaper was clearly reaching their target audience far better than the other. Cancelling one of their bi-monthly newspaper ads saved them £20,000.

These methods also harvested valuable numbers and gave them the opportunity to build up a database and market via SMS in the future.
